CHECK-OUT BINGO BOY INC. CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR ALL SHOWS!!!

NEW YEARS EVE 2008 AT HAMBURGER MARY'S!

Legendary Bingo rang out the year in style (or "like a Fellini movie" as one friend put it) by presenting the West Hollywood version of "GO-GO SISTER BINGO" on New Years Eve featuring a couple of cute go-go boys and The Los Angeles SISTERS OF PERPETUAL INDULGENCE. A great time was had by all and we raised a great deal of money for the Long Beach AIDS Foundation. Bingo was followed by dancing and a midnight champagne toast. What a way to go! Enjoy the show...

The winners of each bingo games were presented with prize packages donated by Hustler Enterprises and they contained quite a few surprises- including very large sex toys. Go-Go boy Benjamin presents a lucky winner with her "package."

Very classy crowd, yes?

Go-Go Boy Phillip (from the midwest he informs us) was very acrobatic- jumping, hanging and even...

...mounting a few lucky Bingo Freaks.

Sister Barbie-Q was one of the L.A. "Sisters" in attendance. Others included Sister Erotica Psychotica, Sister Lupita Fajita and others whose names are much too complicated for me to remember.

And finally, three of the handsome waiters at Hamburger Mary's- always ready to fulfill your every wish.

HOPE YOU ALL HAD A VERY HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!

Special thanks to Charles Worthington and Chiara Tellini for your great photos!

LOOKING BACK AT 2008

Has it been a year since I updated this blog? Shame on Bingo-boy. Well with all of the new MySpace and Facebook and the weekly e-mail and....I forgive myself. Now on to our "2008 BINGO MEMORIES!"

This year we were fortunate enough to give our help to many, many wonderful charities including THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS, LEUKEMIA/LYMPHOMA SOCIETY, AIDS SERVICE CENTER FOOD BANK, UNDER THE BRIDGES & ON THE STREETS, THE DOWNTOWN WOMEN'S CENTER, PLANNED PARENTHOOD, THE WELLNESS COMMUNITY, THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR WOMEN, MUCH LOVE ANIMAL RESCUE and so many others.

And what about our CELEBRITY BALLCALLING GUESTS? Always interesting to look back and see who came this year, who came back and who refuses to ever come back. You know, we have had just about every celebrity in the entire world as guest ballcallers! Please don't send me any e-mails. I know it's a big fat lie but I like to think that way. On one fun evening, we had Lesley Ann Warren- who plays Teri Hatcher's mom on "Desperate Housewives" and Andrea Bowab who plays Teri Hatcher's daughter ON THE SAME NIGHT! They did different shows so alas they did not meet but we got photos anyway just to prove it.

AND WHAT ABOUT THE BINGO FREAKS? Believe it or not, this photo was not taken on Halloween. It's just another night at Legendary Bingo with a group of loyal bingo freaks. Of course we always use that term with love. A Bingo Freak is someone who...well, comes to Legendary Bingo! It's that simple and welcome to the club! This year you all saved animals lives, fed the homeless, helped find a cure for cancer, sponsored marathons, tried to kill Prop. 8, supported Los Angeles independent theater, gave supplies and afterschool programs to grade school children and drank a lot of "Mary-tini's." Good for you. Your support of all of our charities is what keeps this bingo wheel turning year after year after year (almost 11 now!). Thank you from all of us.

OUR TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY GALA! Speaking of year after year- we celebrated our Ten Year Anniversary in high style in May of this year. Sold out the entire restaurant in 36 hours of announcing ticket sales. Huge prizes, awesome celebrities, an actual red carpet with paparazzi and film crews and, for the first time ever on one stage- ALL THREE BINGO HOSTESSES! It was unnatural and wrong but also oh-so-right. In the photo you will find the lovely bingo hostesses as well as a few of the celebrities who came out to support. To keep the event classy, some of the prizes included porn, dirty board games and a dildo that hooked into your I-Pod.

NEW EVENTS IN 2008
This was a good year for introducing new "hybrid" bingo events to the adoring and "we'll try anything" public. Having already thrilled you with Bingeoke (bingo & kareoke) and Cabaringo (cabaret and bingo- I miss Rudolpho's) in 2007, for 2008 we introduced three new monthly events for you to try. "GO-GO SISTER BINGO" took off right away and has become an instant legend. Go-Go boys and The Los Angeles Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence make this event so very unusual and interesting. The porn prizes and happy hour drink prices don't hurt either. Held at MJ's Bar in Silverlake the 3rd Saturday of each month.

"BURLESQUE BINGO" is a combination of bingo and burlesque performances. And I do not mean stripping. It is actually closer to performance art. On one occasion one of the dancers appeared as Napoleon Dynamite and rubbed tater tots all over her body before dousing her chest with ketchup. Standing ovation for that one. Our dancers have names like Delilah DeMilo, Lavender LaRue and Anastasia Von Teaserhausen. Need we say more? Held on the last Sunday of each month at Royal Claytons Tavern in the loft district of downtown Los Angeles.

"BELLE AIRE'S DQB"- Everyone loves The Fabulous Belle Aire. So we decided to give her a night of her own where she can yell at the bingo freaks ("shuuuuut up!") and also show her amazing talent as a drag performer. Belle and her puppet are one of the funniest, most amazing things that you will ever see and special drag guests just make it even better. Held the first Sunday of each month at Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood.

AND FINALLY...

We are grateful to all for the ongoing support for Legendary Bingo and all of our other events. Times are tough right now and we will continue, through 2009, to assist our charities (who are hurting as well) and provide an inexpensive way for all to "change the world" through giving as well as have a great time and a few laughs with old friends and new. From Bingo-boy, The Fabulous Belle Aire, Bridgette of Madison County and Famous Bingo Hostess Willam- thank you for your support and we look forward to even more outrageous events in 2009- all in the name of charity!

LOOKING BACK AT 2007
This was a great year for Legendary Bingo. Going into our tenth year, we have raised almost 2 millon dollars for local and national organizations! And what fun we have had doing it. Each Wednesday night the bingo faithful gather at Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood and try their best to win various prize packages whule trying not to get hit by the "pelts" and definately not having to reach into the "bag of crap." Here's a little look back-

One of the most amazing things about this weird little event is the amount of pretty cool celebrities who stop by to play bingo instead of going to one of their "Hollywood parties" or even a very cool nightclub. This year, we had "celebrity drop-by's" from the likes of MINNIE DRIVER, ROBBIE WILLIAMS (on a date with DITA VON TEESE!), DARYL HANNAH, SETH GREEN, AMBER TAMBLYN, JOY LAUREN (of "Desperate Housewives"), THOMAS DEKKER (of "Heroes" and the upcoming "Sarah Conner Chronicles"), DAVID ANDERS (of "Alias" and "Heroes"), JANE LYNCH, AHMET & DIVA ZAPPA and NATALIE MAINES of The Dixie Chicks (pictured above with Bingo-boy) I am sure there are more that I can't remember. Also famous celebrities' mothers seem to love us including the mothers of BRITTANY SNOW, MANDY MOORE and SHAWN PRYFOM (of "Desperate Housewives"). A bunch of "America's Next Top Model" gals are also in the house very frequently.

Belle Aire took time off from her film and television career to host a night of bingo at Busby's in Los Angeles and her fans were there in full force. ANDRAE GONZALO of "Project Runway" helped call the balls and was very amused by the goings-on. Belle Aire will continue in 2008 to make special guest appearances and remind us of why we call her "The Bingo Bitch."

BRIDGETTE OF MADISON COUNTY became the resident bingo hostess in 2007 and turned bingo at Hamburger Mary's in to a through-the-roof wild and crazy- what the fuck is she saying now? evening not for the entire family. Bingo-boy and Bridgette were featured in the BRAVO reality show WELCOME TO THE PARKER with special guest MISS COCO PERU and yes, we became even more famous than we already were.

It's no surprise that we have had a buttload of Celebrity Ballcallers come on by to "call our balls" and this year we were honored to have LIZA SNYDER ("Yes, Dear"), ROSS THE INTERN, PETER PAIGE ("Queer As Folk"), JANE LYNCH, VARLA JEAN MERMAN, JUDY TENUTA, MISSI PYLE, PATRIKA DARBO, JERRI MANTHEY, DEBRA WILSON, SAM PANCAKE, REICHEN LEMKUHL, ELAINE HENDRIX, designer ANDREW CHRISTIAN, ALEC MAPA (so funny on Ugly Betty!), HONEY LABRADOR, JENNIFER WARREN, AMY HILL, JACK PLOTNICK, BETH GRANT, SAM LLOYD (of "Scrubs"), STELLA STEVENS, SHELLEY MORRISON (she was so great), JIM J. BULLOCK, JAI RODRIGUEZ, ESTELLE HARRIS (of "Seinfeld"), REX LEE ('Entourage"), TIA CARRERE, ERICA VITTANA PHILLIPS (so funny in "Superbad"!), WILSON CRUZ and of course our good friend and diva LISA ANN WALTERS (pictured with IAN ZIERING). Looking forward to even more celeb visits in 2008!

And finally, we had a new BINGO HOSTESS come up through the ranks and prove him/herself to be worthy of the very high standards of the Hamburger Mary's Bingo Freaks. FAMOUS BINGO HOSTESS WILLAM who has wowed audiences with his appearances on "Nip/Tuck," "Women's Murder Club" and many other shows now has a huge fan base at Hamburger Mary's and beyond and Bingo-boy couldn't be more proud. Bingo-boy and Willam were featured on the reality shows "Sunset Tan" and "L.A. Ink" and Willam is pictured with KAT VON D of the latter show. We look forward to more from Willam in 2008!

A very special THANK YOU to all of the Bingo Freaks from Bingo-boy, The Fabulous Belle Aire, Bridgette of Madison County and Willam as well as from all of our charities. You really have made a difference in the lives of others through your support of this event and we treasure you- each and every one of you. We look forward to a wonderful 2008 and wish you all prosperity, peace and most of all- that you are" on" each and every day of your lives.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE LEGENDARY BINGO FAMILY!

A MEMORY OF ANNA NICOLE SMITH

In April of 2006, my friend Nate called me on my cellphone with the announcement that "Anna Nicole wants to come and host bingo." I knew that Nate had been working as Anna's personal assistant and was also very good friends with Kimmy, Anna's previous assistant (she was featured on the Anna's E! show) but I was still in a bit of shock over his announcement. All that came out of my mouth in response was "why?"

Nate was and is a big ol' bingo freak- loves to bring large groups to party at Legendary Bingo and he told me that a group of Anna's friends were going on and on about how fun this "crazy type of bingo" was. He said that Anna became very excited and said "I wanna do it!" And so it was done. Well, not quite yet. I called Nate and told him that I couldn't possibly announce that Anna was coming to bingo unless I was very, very sure that it was really going to happen (celebs have bailed before- most for very good reasons but it is still disappointing) because I knew that many people would show up just to see her. That's the kind of presence she has.

Nate said "if you don't believe me, why don't you ask her?" And the next thing I knew I was talking to Anna Nicole and she was telling me that, yes, she was going to come and that it sounded like a lot of fun. I was talking to Anna Nicole! Honestly, that's how I felt and you know I talk to ALOT of celebrities. But even talking to her on the phone had a bit of a surreal quality to it.

So, to make a long story short, Anna Nicole came to bingo- as a surprise guest. She arrived with Nate, her son Daniel and Larry Birkhead in tow. Not exactly an entourage- just Anna and her family. The first impression that I had was that she was the most beautiful woman that I had ever seen. She was very tall and her skin was a golden color that had sort of a glow coming off of it. She was wearing a pair of very tight jeans and a little top that showed her belly and I kept thinking this is not the same Anna that I saw on all of those episodes of her show. Somehow, she had turned back the clock and was the Guess? jeans Anna, maybe even better.

I think that most of the bingo crowd thought that she was an Anna Nicole Smith impersonator (we had just had a Dolly Parton impersonator that looked like the real thing) but soon it began to set in and the camera phones began clicking.

Anna came up and called a few games of bingo and was sweet, funny and very warm to the crowd. She posed for every picture request, signed every autograph request and bid on every live auction item (she won several of them) to help the charity for the night.

The Anna Nicole Smith that we all encountered on that night of bingo was one that we will all never forget. Whatever problems she had experienced in the past or was soon to experience took the night off and we all knew that we were in the presence of someone with true star quality.

We will all miss Anna Nicole and will remember her generosity of spirit and her ability to find joy in little things like being "one away from a bingo!" I hope that she has found the peace that she truly deserves.

The beautiful photo of Anna Nicole Smith was taken by Gil Kaan.

REALITY SHOW BINGO AT THE PARKER PALM SPRINGS!

On Thursday, November 2 Bingo-boy trekked to the beautiful Parker Palm Springs Hotel and was immediately swallowed up by television cameras recording his every movement. It was all part of an episode of a soon-to-be-seen reality show on Bravo called "Welcome To The Parker." Seems that the hotel wanted to put on a fundraising event and had heard the legend of "Legendary Bingo" from places afar. Bridgette Of Madison County (a part-time Bingo Hostess) and the lovely Miss Coco Peru (remember her from "Trick" and "Girls Will Be Girls"?) were already on the property (which is breathtaking) and getting ready to call the balls that night.

The event took place on a beautiful patio and all of the Palm Springs bingo faithful turned up in their finest clothes (it's amazing how quickly the good wardrobe comes out when television exposure looms...). The event benefited a hate crime documentary program and a gay youth program in Palm Springs. And it rocked!

Now some pics from the event:

Bridgette and Coco offered the crowd the closest thing to "Lucy and Ethel Call Bingo Balls" that they will ever see. Their back and forth snipes were over-the-top hilarious and luckily recorded by the cameras. Can't wait for the show to air!

Friends Andy and Tiger Lily brought their friends Allie and Pinky. Pinky is the black one and Allie is the one showing her...harness.

The Palm Springs Sisters Of Perpetual Indulgence were on hand to sell bingo cards, drink, seat people, drink and drink. Those nuns love their sacramental wine!

Palm Springs bingo freak Gregory brought two lovely ladies and they toasted to their good luck. And then didn't win a darned thing.

VISIT OUR CELEBRITY PHOTO GALLERY

On Saturday, September 23, we ventured out to Eric McCormack's home for an evening of "Bingo-Tini" to benefit Project Angel Food. What a fun night with a great crowd that included Constance Marie (of The George Lopez Show and also, unbelieveably, she was J-Lo's mom in Selena!), Andy Garcia, Sam "Star Search" Harris and others that I don't know their names but they are on t.v. all the time (one scruffy guy is on the new show "Brothers & Sisters" with Calista Flockhart). The event raised about $15,000 for Project Angel Food- yay!

Here is Eric, playing bingo and loving it with his beautiful wife Janet (who has volunteered for PAF for many years). He didn't win but he was sure serious!

Sam Harris has come a long way. From Star Search to a new show called "The Class"! He won a bottle of Dom Perignon in the raffle and took it from Eric, pointing out that he "is an alcoholic." Eric then announced to the crowd "Ladies and Gentlemen- Sam Harris is an alcoholic."

Can you find Andy Garcia in the photo? He didn't like Speed Bingo very much and after a few fast numbers wadded up his card and walked up to Belle Aire, throwing it in her face. Belle Aire called him a bitch and many agreed.

Belle Aire and Eric had a lot of fun calling games together. Eric is a good ballcaller! Very quick and made up his own callbacks. Eric may come and be the celebrity guest at our Annual Holiday Bingo Show at Hamburger Mary's in December. Stay tuned!

"DYNASTY" & "CLUB LUCKY BALLS"

You never know who is going to turn up on Wednesday nights for Legendary BIngo at Hamburger Mary's. You could be sitting there just playing with your dauber and in walks Pamela Sue Martin (of "Dynasty" and "Poseidon Adventure" and of course "Nancy Drew" fame). She was beautiful and was having so much fun that she agreed to call a few games. Afterward, she promised that she would come and call bingo with us whenever she is in Los Angeles, saying "This was the best part of my entire trip!". Pamela Sue Martin with Belle Aire.

There's a new bingo in town and it's called "CLUB LUCKY BALLS." Who do they think they are? Actually it is Bingo-boy- branching out again with a once a month bingo night in Silverlake at Akbar (the coolest club in Silverlake). Hosted by Bingo-boy and a the "male drag character" Smokey Lounge, Club Lucky Balls is off to a good start. We packed Akbar on our very first Monday night(benefiting The Silverlake Conservatory of Music) and will be back for more on Monday, October 16.

Terry- aka "The Bouncer, Juli Superstar aka "Lucky Lulu" and Jeff Wylie aka "Smokey Lounge." Doesn't anyone go by their real name in Silverlake (asks "Bingo-boy...")?

This is the very, very hot bartender, Gina. She pours a mean drink and you can spend hours just reading her arms.
